Ireland's Best Foodie Hotels

We have some of the best hotels in the world in Ireland and we have some pretty spectacular restaurants too. There are amazing things happening on the foodie scene all across Ireland so to honour this, we have picked out some of the best hotel restaurants for you to enjoy!

Cliff House Hotel, Waterford

The Five Star Cliff House Hotel boasts a Michelin Star restaurant, simply called ‘The House’. Chef Martin Kajuiter serves the very best of local produce from home county Waterford, neighbouring county Cork and of course the Irish Sea.  His exploratory, confident style results in interesting and wonderful dishes, combining straight forward Irish cooking and modern methods.  The fine dining experience is open from 6.30 pm and comprises of a tasting menu and a la carte options, all to be enjoyed in the ocean facing glass walled dining room.

Sheen Falls Lodge, Kerry

You’ll be treated to a feast at the 5 star Sheen Falls Lodge hotel restaurants. From fine dining in the 2AA Rosette winning restaurant, The Falls, to casual dining in The Restaurant Lounge to wonderful afternoon tea, Sheen Falls Lodge has it all. Enjoy wonderful cuisine with panoramic views overlooking the bay and sheen waterfalls. Head Chef Phillip Brazil serves modern Irish food, all locally sourced, with his own modern flair. At Sheen Falls, they smoke their own Salmon at the hotels own on-site smokehouse. There is something for everyone to enjoy. There are two, three and seven course menus available and the restaurant is open to hotel residents and the general public.

Ballymaloe House, Cork

Dining at Ballymaloe House is a real treat. Famed for its cookery school and high profile chef, Ballymaloe offers fresh produce and gorgeous food.  The walled garden supplies the restaurant with fruit vegetables and herbs and the organic farm as Shanagarry provides beef pork and salad items.  The food emulates the best of Irish Country House cooking with a real emphasis on fresh home grown, local produce. Ann, the baker, arrives at 6 am every morning to bake bread for breakfast. You couldn’t ask for fresher.  A three course lunch is served daily and afternoon tea is available for residents each afternoon in the drawing room.  A five course dinner consisting of soups, salads and sorbets is served every evening and again, only the finest fresh produce is on the menu.

The Merrion Hotel, Dublin

Restaurant Patrick Guilbaud at the Merrion hotel holds 2 coveted Michelin Stars, Irelands only 2 Michelin Starred restaurant.  With stunning views overlooking the hotels classical walled gardens, it has been the centre of fine dining in Dublin for over 30 years and it’s easy to see why. Patrick Guilbaud combines contemporary Irish with classic roots! The range of dishes on the menu is outstanding, from ‘Chicken and Lobster Boudin’ to’ Braised Atlantic Turbot’  to  ‘The Fondant’, all equally tempting and spectacular. Alternatively, there’s the Cellar Bar which serves a casual, gastro pub menu which under the guidance of chef, Ed Cooney, serves fresh local produce and distinctively Irish cuisine.

Trump International Golf Links & Hotel, Clare

Dining at Trump International Golf Links and Hotel is a wonderful experience. There’s fine dining offered in the Ocean View Restaurant and hearty bar food served in the Trump’s Bar. The Ocean View restaurant matches exquisite ocean front dining with impeccable service. The beautiful setting of the restaurant, overlooking the Wild Atlantic Ocean adds to the atmosphere of the place, cosy and luxurious.  Dress code in the Ocean View Restaurant is smart casual so there’s no need to root out the suit and tie or your best ball gown! Trump’s Bar is situated on the 18th green of the golf course and similarly to the Ocean View restaurant, has amazing views of the Atlantic Ocean. Guests to Trump’s Bar will be greeted with a warm welcome and be able to enjoy a hearty meal at a cosy fireside table, looking out over the ocean.  Dishes range from rib eye steak to traditional fish and chips with homemade tartar sauce. The desert menu is impressive too, with options like Crème Brulee and Chocolate & vanilla Ice cream Sundae just waiting to be devoured. You’ll be spoilt for choice!
